The understanding of well integrity and fatigue challenges are in relative early stages. The deeper we “dive” into these issues the more challenges are becoming apparent. Operations and materials are two important issues as well as better instrumentation to gain more knowledge. An understanding of the interdependence of the parts in the overall system and operations is vital to a safe management of these issues. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION

Back up slides

Responsibilities Overall Responsibility Equipment capacities and fatigue performance Analysis of the different operations – Drilling – Completion – Intervention including TTRD and LWI Who sets operating limits and who set design requirements on a top system level. Description of interfaces between the different operations and phases.

Threaded connection fatigue in operational environment

“New” Operations like: Through tubing rotary drilling (TTRD) Does this require re-evaluation of equipment and operational procedures? TTRD technology in use on fixed platform Cost savings for subsea wells (low cost sidetrack).

Operational issues Escalating weather, bring riser to secure position: – Installation conditions – Normal operating conditions – Shut in conditions – Hang-off conditions Difference between intervention tools and permanently installed equipment
