2 Enemies and defense Arctic wolfs are the musk ox’s main enemy. Humans are their enemies too. If a wolf gets it teeth locked into a musk ox it rolls on its side and tries to kill it. If predators threaten the musk ox they form a circle around the babies.

7 Life Cycle They’re about 2,500 and 3,000 in Alaska. They’re close to 60,000 in Nunavut. The Inuit name for musk ox is “Oomingmak. They’re related to goats and sheep.

8 Characteristics The musk ox are big and furry animals. They weigh around 900 to 1,000 pounds. They stay in packs of 10 to 20. There horns are big, brown and they curve down. There body length is 6-8 ft long and 3-5 ft tall. They have a two layers of fur. They give off a smell when excited. When they lie down the snow does not melt.
