3 WARM-UP: USING 2 ADJECTIVES AND COMPLETE SENTENCES DESCRIBE ONE OF THESE TWO PEOPLE.

5 GRAMÁTICA: SER WITH ADJECTIVES  Carlos es simpático.  Adjectives describe nouns. Ser can be used with adjectives to describe what someone is like.  Pedro es pelirrojo.

6 GRAMÁTICA: SER WITH ADJECTIVES  If the subject is a female and the adjective ends in -o, then it changes to -a.  Ana es simpática.  María es pelirroja.  Carlos es simpático.  Pedro es pelirrojo.

7 GRAMÁTICA: SER WITH ADJECTIVES  When there is more than one subject and the adjective ends in -o, add -s. Don’t forget to change ser to match the subject.  Carlos y Pedro son simpáticos.  Carlos es simpático.  Pedro es pelirrojo.

10 GRAMÁTICA: SER WITH ADJECTIVES  The adjectives that end in -e or a consonant are a little bit different when used with a female subject.  Rosa es inteligente.  Rosa es trabajadora.  Julio es inteligente.  Julio es trabajador.

11 GRAMÁTICA: SER WITH ADJECTIVES  When there is more than one subject and the adjective ends in -e, add -s. Don’t forget to change ser to match the subject.  Julio y Rosa son inteligentes.  Julio es inteligente.  Rosa es inteligente.

13 PRONOUNS  You don’t always need to use the pronoun if it is obvious who the subject is.  ¿Cómo es el profesor?  ¿Cómo son Leticia y Raúl?  Es bajo y gracioso.  Son simpáticos.

14 NEGATIVE  To say what someone is not like, put no in front of the verb.  No soy bajo. Soy alto.  Roberto no es perezoso. Es activo.  Gisela y Raquel no son aburridas. Son graciosas.

15 PARTNER ACTIVITY Get out a sheet of paper and write both of your names on it.
