4 Our bet with Google requires patience.  Access to Google scans of non-English language imprints in our libraries will come only after American courts have sorted out the Google Book Search Settlement.  There is a good reason to call this March Madness:

7 Free Burma Rangers— Southeast Asia Free Burma Rangers— Southeast Asia In 2009, University of Texas Libraries began collaborating with Free Burma Rangers (FBR), a non-profit organization based in Southeast Asia that provides humanitarian aid to internally displaced Burmese refugees and documents human rights violations that have occurred under the military dictatorship in Burma/Myanmar. Note: Access to these materials is currently limited to Free Burma Rangers staff due to the sensitive nature of the information.

8 Mission: Shaping the future of research libraries in the changing environment of public policy and scholarly communication. Members: 123 major research libraries in North America, including the national libraries and research publics. Ratios: 4 percent of the higher education institutions providing 43 percent of the information resources. Users: 4.2 million students and faculty served. Expenditures: $3.9 billion annually, $1.3 billion for acquisitions of which 46 percent is invested in access to electronic resources.
