3 Purpose for interviewer Want to solve the problem: fill the vacancy Do they have the skills to do the job? Are they the best person for the job? Will they fit in with the organization? Do they seem honest?

11 Good interview skills Dress neatly and appropriately. Give a firm handshake and give a warm smile. Maintain eye contact with all interviewers. Be polite, but assertive and polite. Listen well and focus on the questions being asked. Answer the questions briefly and to the point. Pay attention throughout the entire interview.

12 Questions to ask: What is the next step in your hiring process? Who would I be reporting to? What is their management style? What are the long-term career opportunities with your company? What are the biggest challenges you are facing in the coming year?

14 General Tips Make sure you are well-rested, alert and prepared for your interview. Bring two copies of your resume. Do some research on the company and the employees. Prepare a list of questions to ask. Get support from mentors, teachers or others

15 When the interview is over Thank the interviewer for their time. Let them know you are genuinely interested and you think this job is a good fit for you. Tell them you hope to hear from them soon.

16 What to do after interview Write a thank you note to the interviewer (email is fine) Follow up –Contact the interviewer for feedback –Express your interest in the company even after the position is filled
