1 1. Follow-up questions Ex: “How did that make you feel?” 2. If you have a shy participant, ask questions to move the interview forward 3. Give participants the option not to answer sensitive questions 1. Ex: “Would you mind if I asked a question?”

2 4. Interview should sound like a conversation. Ex: “So tell me how, was your day?” 5. Listen, Listen, Listen!!! 6. The KEY to a great interview is to be CURIOUS and HAVE an OPEN HEART!

3 Questions about the past Ex: What’s the most exciting thing you’ve done? Questions about the present Ex: Describe your perfect day. Questions about the future Ex: How would you like to be remembered?

4 Remember, the more open-ended questions, the better the interview Some topics are not appropriate, use your judgment! If someone doesn’t want to talk about something, go on to another topic.
