2  Studies have shown that up to 1 out of 5 students are bullied during their school years.

3  People who are bullied feel ashamed, but they shouldn't. They are not bullied for who they are, or what they do that's different, they are bullied for who the bully is.

4  A bully doesn't harass for fun, but for attention, power, and control. To be accurate, bullying is much more serious than naturally expected..

5  1 in 10 students skip school at least once a month to avoid being bullied. This means a child's grades could fall

6  The Globe and Mail TORONTO Calls to a nation-wide hot line for distressed children and teen-agers have risen in the past year to 4,000 a day from 3,000, the operators say, and callers are expressing a deeper level of despair than ever before.
