3. Question 2: Similarities and Differences (3 Marks) Similarity: Both bands had incredible and fast record sales Differences: 1) One Direction had the internet to help them to achieve their rapid success. 2) The Beatles were a group you could look up to /respect

(“Quote” + Comment/Effect) Word Choice “prepackaged” - suggests something made quickly: is fake or substandard. “(can sing quite) ably” – the word ably suggests skill or competence “(Crutch of) authenticity” – the word “authenticity” suggests genuine talent, ability, skill. (Imagery: a crutch is something you can lean on – something that will support you … in this case, their genuine or authentic talent will support them.
