1 Habits of Mind “THINKING FLEXIBLY”

2 Day 1: Thinking Flexibly  Discuss what “thinking flexibly” entails.  Would you say that thinking flexibly is within your comfort zone? Why or why not?

3 Day 2: Thinking Flexibly  Your Mom sends you to Sam’s Club with $20 at 12:15 pm for a case of Debbie Cakes for the “take home” bags for your little sister’s birthday party, which begins at 1:00 pm of the same day. When you get there, the Debbie Cakes’ shelf is empty.  List 3 things that you can do to ensure that you return home before the birthday party begins with a “take home” snack for all party attendees that does not disappoint your Mom.

4 Day 3: Thinking Flexibly  Another term for “thinking flexibly” is called: “thinking outside the box.”  Discuss 3 strategies that you could use to “think outside the box” more often will meeting new people.

5 Day 4: Thinking Flexibly  Watch this video:

6 Day 5: Thinking Flexibly  In 3-4 sentences, summarize your level of comfort with “thinking flexibly”.  How would your close friends describe your “thinking flexibly” abilities.  What are some things you could do to increase your ability and willingness to think flexibly? ***TURN IN YOUR PAPER TO THE CLASS TRAY!***
