11. Cooperative enterprise, unlike corporations and other type of enterprise, have the principle of “self”: each member, in fact, takes the direct management of activities in which he is involved. THE DISTINCTIVENESS OF COOPERATION In cooperatives the nominal value of each share can’t be less than 25 € or more than 500 €. Where the law provides otherwise, no shareholder in the cooperative societies can have a share of more than 100.000 €, or as many shares whose nominal value exceeds that amount. With regard to the reserves one must distinguish between legal reserves, which are never divided, and other reserves, wheather provided by statute, and therefore obligatory, or the result of a choice made by directors and shareholders (“voluntary reserves”). In any case the reserves of any kind, in mutual cooperatives, are always “indivisible” among the cooperative members. The “property” is an exclusive availability of the cooperative and may not be distributed to shareholders even in the event of dissolution (transgenerationalbility of the cooperative)
