2  9.1 The student will perform all basic movement skills and demonstrate competence in at least two self-selected, lifelong, skill-related physical activities from individual, dual, or team game/sport, dance, and recreational pursuit categories.

3  5 – Meets the Standard ◦ Students can demonstrate physical skills and rules of the game/activity.  3 – Developing ◦ Students can demonstrate some of the physical skills and rules of the game/activity.  1 – Does Not Meet the Standard ◦ Student is unable to demonstrate some of the physical skills and rules of the game/activity.  0 – Cannot Assess

4  5 – Meets the Standard ◦ Students practicing throwing to each other in field  3 – Developing ◦ Students practicing throwing for part of the time and talking for part of the time  1 – Does Not Meet the Standard ◦ Students talking to one another not practicing skill  0 – Cannot Assess

5  9.2 The student will apply movement principles and concepts to specific sport, dance, and recreational skill performance.

6  5 – Meets the Standard ◦ The student will explain and demonstrate the characteristics of safe and appropriate muscular stretching, muscular strengthening, and cardiorespiratory exercise programs.  3 – Developing ◦ The student can demonstrate some characteristics of safe and appropriate muscular stretching and strengthening, and cardiorespiratory exercise programs.  1 – Does Not Meet the Standard ◦ The student will be unable to explain the characteristics of safe and appropriate muscular stretching, muscular strengthening, and cardiorespiratory exercise programs.  0 – Cannot Assess

7  5 – Meets the Standard ◦ After instant activity, student gets on stretching line and starts dynamic stretching  3 – Developing ◦ Student stands around and talks through instant activity, then gets in line and starts dynamic stretching  1 – Does Not Meet the Standard ◦ Student stands around and talks through instant activity, gets to stretching line, stands and talks  0 – Cannot Assess

8  9.3 The student will demonstrate achievement and maintenance of a health- enhancing level of personal fitness by designing, implementing, self-assessing, and modifying a personal fitness program.

9  5 – Meets the Standard ◦ Student is on task for entire class. Student increases heart rate during the cardio activity  3 – Developing ◦ Student is on task for part of the class. Student increases heart rate during part of the cardio activity.  1 – Does Not Meet the Standard ◦ Student does not increase heart rate during part of the cardio activity. Student does not follow work out plan and does not record daily workout. Student is talking, not using equipment properly, or involved in horseplay  0 – Cannot Assess

10  5 – Meets the Standard ◦ Student follows directions and puts forth effort from instant activity to cool down at end of class  3 – Developing ◦ Student does instant activity, talks through main activity (puts forth minimal activity) and joins back in during cool down  1 – Does Not Meet the Standard ◦ Student talks during instant activity, stands around during main activity and refuses to partake in cool down  0 – Cannot Assess

11  9.4 The student will demonstrate appropriate behaviors in all physical activity settings.

12  5 – Meets the Standard ◦ Student manages space properly. Student encourages classmates during activity and works to accomplish goals. Student treats others with respect. Student is aware and follows safety concerns.  3 – Developing ◦ Student invades others space occasionally. Student will put down classmates that may have challenges during the activity. Student treats others with disrespect.  1 – Does Not Meet the Standard ◦ Student invades others space repeatedly. Student uses derogatory language toward other students and or the teacher.  0 – Cannot Assess

13  5 – Meets the Standard ◦ Student keeps good space and helps a fellow classmate with their overhead clear in badminton.  3 – Developing ◦ Student hits friend over the head with badminton racket, then gets back to activity for rest of class.  1 – Does Not Meet the Standard ◦ Student is crowding other teammates space, while vocally disrespecting other classmates.  0 – Cannot Assess

14  9.5 The student will participate in school and community physical activities that are challenging and health-enhancing and that provide opportunities for social interaction.  (Not assessed daily)

15  5 – Meets the Standard ◦ The student will maintain a record of daily participation in physical activities. ◦ The student can describe the benefits of exercise.  3 – Developing ◦ The student will maintain a record of daily participation once a week. ◦ The student can describe some of the benefits of exercise.  1 – Does Not Meet the Standard ◦ The student does not maintain a record of daily participation in physical activities. The student is not able to describe the benefits of exercise.  0 – Cannot Assess

16  5 – Meets the Standard ◦ Student keeps a week record of their daily activity  3 – Developing ◦ Student keeps a week record of daily activity, but only completes 3 days  1 – Does Not Meet the Standard ◦ Student refuses to complete a week record of daily activity  0 – Cannot Assess
