Buildings and Facilities Plantsbrook has been identified as one of the 261 schools nationally in the Priority Schools Building Programme. This means we will receive significant funding in the next 5 years to enable us to rebuild the school. In the meantime, despite current constraints, we strive to improve teaching and learning facilities in school. In recent years considerable capital investment has been made to create additional facilities and upgrade existing rooms In recent years, we have built: additional 4 science labs Refurbished Cromwell hall Refurbished 3 art rooms Refurbished boys and girls gym Refurbished boys and girls toilets Refurbished the dining room Our pupil to computer ratio is 1:1.7, much higher than the national average ‘The high provision of information and communication technology equipment allows for its use across all subjects’ ofSTED 2011

Plantsbrook Staff We believe that you judge a school first by the quality of the staff. Plantsbrook staff are highly motivated, caring and enthusiastic. We spend thousands of pounds a year on training and continuous professional development of our staff of highly qualified specialists. We also hold the ‘investor in people’ award which confirms that staff training and performance is managed effectively. ‘teachers work hard and know every child as an individual. Teaching quality is rarely less than good and much is outstanding. Little time is wasted in lessons and students tangibly enjoy coming to the school to learn’ ofSTED 2011 Mrs Campbell – Head teacher Mr Wilkie – Deputy Head Teacher Ms Cummings – Deputy Head teacher Mr Hulse – Deputy Head Teacher Mr O'Connor – Deputy Head Teacher Mr Farr – Assistant Head Teacher Mr Hampshire – Assistant Head Teacher Ms Wigley – Assistant Head Teacher Leadership Team

Plantsbrook Community Plantsbrook is one of the most popular schools in Birmingham. Each year we are vastly over subscribed. 1092 children applied last year for 210 places. We try to encourage students to walk/cycle to school. A secure bike compound is available, many students use public transport to arrive/depart school. Bus stops are located directly outside the school on Ebrook Road. We have strong links with l0cal primary schools and we regularly organise joint activities. We want to build on their work and ensure our students continue to make progress. ‘All staff actively promote equality and tackle discrimination and as a result, all students succeed’ ‘the behaviour of students is exemplary in lessons and around the school which gives a positive climate for learning’ ofSTED 2011 Photos of bike compound
