3 You are meeting with a customer who is deaf and their interpreter. What is the proper protocol for addressing the individual who is deaf? When you want to address the individual who is deaf, you should make eye contact with the individual that is deaf. When addressing the individual that is deaf, make eye contact with the interpreter when asking the question and then watch the individual who is deaf for their response. When you want to address the individual who is deaf, you should make eye contact with the interpreter.
