1 Lab Exercise 3 (25 points) due Tuesday March 8 This is an individual lab exercise, you may not work as a team. This exercise represents a typical site design problem that you might encounter in an office. Part one of the project is to prepare a grading plan for the proposed project. Part two is to construct a contour model of the project illustrating your site grading solution. The site design problem is not complex, and involves site grading to accommodate a small office building for a Parish Agriculture Extension Agent, parking, and a patio for barbeques and use during breaks. All paths and sidewalks must be handicap accessible. Specific project criteria: 1.Retaining walls are permitted when it is not possible or practical to slope the earth. 2.Maximum slope is 1:3 3.Maximum driveway slope is 6% 4.Grade adjacent to the building must be at least 1’-0” below the finish floor elevation 5.The parking lot must include 2 van accessible handicap spaces. 6.Parking stalls are 10’-0”x 20’-0” 7.Indicate on all roads and walks the finished grades and slopes. 8.Show all proposed contours as solid lines 9.The vertical and horizontal scales of the model must be the same. You may complete this project using digital representation, or you may hand draw it. The model may be constructed using the laser cutter, however this is not a requirement.
