1 Go to Slide 2. (You can get there by clicking on slide 2 in Normal VIEW.)

2  Save this Tutorial to your own drive as (Your name) in your PowerPoint folder. (You will first need to create a PowerPoint Folder).  Click on this box and replace these instructions with the name of the city where you live. Once you have completed the instructions on one slide, move on to the next slide.

3  Change the font of the title of this slide to Tahoma with the font size of 50.  Add the “shadow” effect to the title. You can do this by going to HOME– FONT.  Change the title font color to green. Bold the Title. ShadowColor

4  Add WordArt to this page below the directions. Have the text be the name of your favorite band/singer. (INSERT – TEXT – WORDART).  Change the color of the text to your favorite color. (Right-click on the WordArt and select FORMAT – TEXT EFFECTS).  You can edit the shadow by going to RIGHT CLICK – FORMAT TEXT EFFECTS – SHADOW -.

5 Slide Design Change the “design” of this entire show to any template you would like (Design Ribbon). Change the design of just this Slide (#5) to another theme Hint: Right click the design you want in the ribbon – Select apply to selected slides.

6  Change the layout of this slide to “Title, Text and Media Clip” in the “Other Layouts” area. (HOME – SLIDES – LAYOUT – 2 CONTENT)  For the media clip, add a movie. INSERT – MEDIA CLIPS – MOVIE – MOVIE FROM CLIP ORGANIZER.  Then search for a movie.

7  Set the slide show to transition using the “Uncover” setting. Set the timing speed to 3.00.  You can choose to have your slides change automatically or have the slides advance on mouse click.  Go back to the first slide have the first slide advance after 5 seconds. Go to the Transition Tab, under the timing section under Advance Slide unclick On Mouse Click and click on After button and set it to 5 seconds.

8  On Slide 2, go to Transitions, and click On Mouse Click. This will resume using the mouse.

9  Use animations so that each line of this slide enters the screen at different times.  Animations – Add Animations – Click on a Entrance or Emphasis.  When giving a presentation it is good to have lines enter 1 at a time.

10  Insert a clipart image of a car at the bottom right of this page (INSERT – CLIPART and search for a car).  Add animation to the car selecting ANIMATIONS – ADD ANIMATION. Make the car move across the page from right to left (Add Effect – Motion Path – Custom Path).  Insert an Oval Callout above the driver of the car. (INSERT – SHAPES.) For the text in the box, type “Hello!” Change the color to a light shade of yellow.

11  Move slide 4 so it is between slides 5 and 6. (Go to VIEW – SLIDE SORTER. Then click and drag slide 4.

12  Insert an action button to the bottom middle of this slide. Set it to take you back to page one.  (To do this, you must first add a rectangle (INSERT – SHAPES).  Click on the rectangle. Then click on the “Action” button found in INSERT – LINKS – ACTION. Choose “hyperlink to – first slide).

13  Add a footer (INSERT - HEADER AND FOOTER - SLIDE) to the slide show that says Created by: (your name). Add the slide number and don’t have it show on the 1 st page.

14  Insert a FOOTER with your name and period on it. INSERT– HEADER AND FOOTER – NOTES AND HANDOUTS (TAB) – CHECK THE “FOOTER” BOX.

15  Add speaker notes to this slide (VIEW –NOTES PAGE). Insert the note “Don’t forget to learn how to add music to a slide.” To get out of the Notes View, click on VIEW – NORMAL.

16  Add a sound, to this page. (INSERT– SOUND).  Have it play automatically. Move the sound icon to the bottom right of this page.

17  Add a hyperlink to the bottom of this page that links to Mrs. Baugh’s school website: http://my.uen.org/my.uen.org/298291.  You have to INSERT – TEXT BOX. Type “Mrs. Baugh’s School Page.” Highlight it, and then click “INSERT – HYPERLINK). Set the screen tip to “Class Website!”

18  Change the color of all of the text on this page (HOME – TEXT).  Place a picture as the background for this page (RIGHT CLICK – FORMAT BACKGROUND – PICTURE OR TEXTURE FILE – INSERT FROM: CLIP ART).

19  Create a “handout” of this slide show that prints 9 slide pages per sheet. (OFFICE BUTTON – PRINT). In the “print what” area, select “handouts 9 slides.” Print in color.  The 3 pages need to be stapled and turned in.

20  Send an email to sbaugh@alpinedistrict.orgsbaugh@alpinedistrict.org  Subject line – PowerPoint Tutorial  Type: Mrs. Baugh(Enter twice). I have attached a copy of my PowerPoint Tutorial. (Enter Twice). Your name.  Click attach. Click to get to your PowerPoint that is saved as your name in your PowerPoint folder.  Click send. This will send me an electronic copy that I can view.
