2 Dividing with decimals works exactly like regular long division
Dividing with decimals works exactly like regular long division......with just one difference. Step 1: Set up the problem the usual way AND solve. Step 2: Put the decimal point in the answer directly above the decimal point in the dividend (the number being divided)

3 Divide 9.1 by 7 Set up the problem the usual way.
Put the decimal point in the answer directly above the decimal point in the dividend

4 Dividing Decimals By Decimal Numbers

5 To dividing by decimals you need to change the number we are dividing by to a whole number…
Step 1: Shift the decimal point of both numbers to the right until the divisor becomes a whole number. Step 2: Divide as usual (Ignore any decimal point in the “house”) Step 3: If there is a decimal still in the house, move it up directly in the quotient as it is in the dividend

6 Divide 5.39 by 1.1 2. Ignore the decimal in the house and DIVIDE.
1. Shift the decimal point of both numbers to the right until the divisor becomes a whole number. 3. Put the decimal point in the answer directly above the decimal point in the dividend
