2. OGP SmartScope: Now operational New SmartScope is now installed and operational. Setup/calibation done by engineer Tue/Wed this week. Model: “OGP SmartScope CNC 500 Multi-Sensor Measuring Machine with DRS Laser Package including DRS Laser Adapter and sensor” Hoping to profit from experience at other groups (eg Sheffield) to get going quickly. 2 Birmingham Update WP3 Meeting, 4 Feb 2016

3. DAQload with HV bias Keithley 2410 (normally used with AliBaVa) connected to power adapter on DAQload, fortunately same HV connector. Room darkened, sensor however not ideally covered from external light. Test: StrobeDelay40 → 3PointGain 1fC for each HV bias voltage (not full partA, lab session with Yr4 students). 4. 130SingleChip Irradiation Preparations (1) Latest Status  Please note: Stage control boxes and PC of coldbox are at Sheffield (Hector, Sam) for checks and repair this week. To be reinstalled next Mon/Tue. Currently not possible to do cooling as 'Norhof N2' control device s/w is also on that PC.  While we have full setup for irradiation of 130SingleChip (currently KH_002) ready, not enough time for irradiation before ITK Week. First priority is TID which takes some time (see Laura and Craig's irradiation plans email/talks). We're not the only users of the cyclotron beam. We have however scheduled another cooling test next Wed, and booked many days after ITK Week  News since last WP3 meeting: Moved Atlys/130DriverBoard into very low rad area ~6m from coldbox). TTI CPX200DP PSU to power 130Driver (and hence the chip) moved into cyclotron 'vault', enabled remote-control of PSU ('DCS: LV' panel in 'BurstData' GUI) through USB, works fine (thanks Peter for advice). Current and voltage also written into regular log file.  Data cables: – Using ~6.5m of this: ”Amphenol Spectra-Strip 125-3017-068”, Mouser.co.uk part number: 523-125-3017-068, for both 40-way and 50-way cables. Very limited choice of 0.025inch tw. pair cables. Unshielded, but routed far from other cables. Fitted 3M connectors. – Using Laura's adapter to route high-speed signals from 40-way cable through Cat6 network cables (Toronto/CHARM wiring) (Two of those sent to RAL). – 'overnight/partA' tests work fine 4 Birmingham Update WP3 Meeting, 4 Feb 2016

6. ABCN250 Hybrid: (Second) Post-Irradiation test  4 th chip ('Chip3') on top row of 250-hybrid (B1_H0) on single-hybrid-panel was irradiated with 250 Mrad on 13 th January. Released back to us only this week (radiation levels sufficiently low).  Didn't use nickel foil in front of hybrid (we forgot). Since then, sensor irradiation results show it is advisable to use in addition kapton tape and also aluminium (~300 μ m) foil, in front of device  Very preliminary tests (SD40->3GP1fC) show all chips still responding (after usual trick: Ramp VCC slowly and restart DAQ). Readout for upper row of chips seems compromised after irradiation, messy NMASK pattern from Chip3 downstream (though ok-ish raising VCC from 3.6 to 3.8V), bottom row still fine. Very slow readout for SD25.  Issues need more careful investigation. Input Noise of irradiated chip seems ok-ish (~420 ENC), but big jump in Gain (100->140).  Possible to irradiate another chip on this hybrid (but priority very much below 130SingleChip campaign) 6 Birmingham Update WP3 Meeting, 4 Feb 2016
