Early Presidents and Executive Branch Job Interview For your Unit 4 assessment, Mr. Litz will interview you on the following topics: Powers of the President (Commander in Chief, Chief Legislator, Chief Diplomat, Chief Executive) President Washington’s impact on the Executive Branch (Whiskey Rebellion, Neutrality, Precedents) President Adam’s impact on the Executive Branch (XYZ Affair, Neutrality, Alien and Sedition Acts) Your interview grade will be based on: Speaking/ Posture, Understanding of the President’s Powers, and Understanding of President Washington/ Adams’ impact on the Executive Branch. Overall, we want to answer this question through our studies: How did George Washington and John Adams give meaning to the powers of the Presidency?

Chief Diplomat is when the President… ●Decides foreign policy or how we act with other countries. Example: President Washington set the foreign policy of staying neutral when Britain stole our ships. ●Neutral- He wanted to keep us out of war.
