3 Arthur miller’s family had a lot of money, they owned their own clothing line. Miller a poor student in high school barley graduating from Abraham Lincoln high. His family became severely poor when the stock market crashed in 1929. He eventually was accepted to the University of Michigan were he found he had a calling for play writing. Early Years

4 Miller was married for the first time in 1940 In 1943 was offered his first major screen wright for a war film about WWII. Wrote his first famous play in 1944 named The Man Who Had All the Luck. in 1947 and 1949 he wrote to more plays one very famous a death of a salesman. Miller had a affair with the star Marilyn Monroe and that relationship escalated from there on. In 1953 his most famous play The Crucible was brought into the world of hollywood. Later Years

6 The lowest-paid workers in the country were the migrant farm workers, with sales clerks and unskilled laborers (such as gas station attendants) not far above them. Happy, a sales clerk, and Biff, a farm worker, represent this segment of the American workforce in Death of a Salesman, and each of them struggles to retain his dignity in the face of his lowly position in a largely affluent society.
