Experimental Procedure 1.Gather materials 2.Test fish on normal hand for 15 seconds 3.Record results 4.Add 1 drop of room temperature water to hand 5.Rub hands together for 5 seconds 6.Test fish for 15 seconds 7.Record results 8.Draw four 8 inch lines on the board with chalk 9.Erase lines with hand 10.Test fish on hand for 15 seconds 11.Record results

4. Hypothesis ● Hypothesis- An assumption of the outcome of an experiment following an “If_____Then____Because___” format. ●The independent variable should be in the “If” statement, and the dependent variable should follow the “Then” statement.

5. ●Independent Variable- The variable in an experiment that is being changed. ●Dependant Variable- The variable in an experiment that is affected by the change of the Independent Variable. ●Control Group- The group in the experiment that is not changed for comparison. ●Controlled Variables- Variables that don’t change.
