2 WHAT IS A HYPOTHESIS? HYPOTHESIS: IS A TESTABLE STATEMENT OR QUESTION YOU ARE TRYING TEST. IT IS IN THE FORM OF AN “IF…..THEN…..BECAUSE… STATEMENT. (COLANGELO NO) OUR HYPOTHESIS: IF THE CONDITION OF HAND IS MORE CLEAN, THAN THE FISH WILL START TO MOVE MORE RAPIDLY BECAUSE THE HANDS ARE CLEAN. (MCMANUS NO)

6 STEPS 1.OBTAIN ALL MATERIALS (FORTUNE FISH, WATER, SOAP, LOTION) 2.APPLY 3 DROPS OF LIQUID/SUBSTANCE TO HAND FOR 2 SECONDS. 3.LET DRY FOR 2 SECONDS - PAT DRY IF NEEDED WITH A PAPER TOWEL. 4.PLACE FORTUNE FISH IN HAND AND START THE TIMER WHEN PLACED. 5.STOP TIMER WHEN FISH MOVES NOT TO EXCEED 15 SECONDS. 6.RECORD TIME AND OBSERVATION OF MOVEMENT. 7.REPEAT STEPS 2-6 WITH EACH CONDITION OF HAND 8.FORM A CONCLUSION BASED ON DATA.

14 CONCLUSION OF DATA ● FISH REACTED FASTEST TO JUST WATER ● THIS DOES NOT SUPPORT OUR HYPOTHESIS BECAUSE WE THOUGHT THAT THE FISH WOULD REACT THE FASTEST WHEN THE HAND WAS THE CLEANEST (SOAP & WATER) ● OUR DATA PROVES US WRONG BECAUSE FOR THE MALE THE FISH STARTED TO MOVE IN JUST 9/10 OF A SECOND (.9 SEC.). AND FOR SOAP & WATER ON THE MALE’S HAND IT TOOK THE FISH 2.14 SECONDS TO REACT ONCE PLACED IN HAND (Kraus)
