8 8 Highland Britain - comprises all the mountainous parts of Great Britain and extensive uplands lying above 300 metres 1. The Highlads of Scotland - the highest mountains in the British Isles, are divided: 1) The North-West Highlands 2) The Grampian mountains -The highest peak – Ben Nevis -1.342 m (The Grampian mountains)
