About Me as a Teacher  I love my job!!  My class, while important, is not the center of the universe  Respect goes both ways  I don’t know everything  No surprises for students  My expectations are clear  I don’t take things too seriously  I am approachable  I help students acclimate to middle school

About the Class Meets for 10 Weeks, Once in the 3-day Rotation  Typing  Mavis Beacon Typing Software  Keeping Hands on Home Row  Typing Without Looking  MS Word  Various Formatting Skills  Inserting pictures, tables, and hyperlinks  MS Excel  Creating line, pie, and column charts  Writing simple formulas  Focus on the interpretation of data

6. Grading  Outstanding (O)  Satisfactory (S)  Unsatisfactory (U) – Students would have to work hard to earn this grade!  Based on:  Typing accuracy (not speed) Goal is 15 WPM  In-class computer projects * No homework is assigned for this class

About My Classroom  Agenda on the whiteboard daily  Low stress environment  No discipline issues – their hands are always busy  School appropriate music is played when we work and can stay on task  Most projects we do allow for creativity  There are detailed written directions for every project
