14 Why does it work? Based on institutions: –European Commission - represents the common European interest –European Parliament - directly elected –Council of Ministers - represents national governments Decisions have the force of law Steps towards more democracy

15 Should we stay or should we go? Globalisation exists Countries have to cooperate to deal with globalisation We need law to regulate globalisation We need democracy to make those laws Europe is the best place to start
