1 What does Assessment look like at Henry Whipple Primary School now ?

2 What has changed ? The educational landscape has changed. Children are no longer assessed against levels. National testing remains at -: Foundation Stage Year 1 Phonics Year 2 SATS ( this now includes grammar) Year 6 SATS (this is now scored out of 100)

3 What has changed ? However expectations have been raised in line with the new curriculum Children are assessed for attainment and progress that they make

4 What are we doing ? We are using Me and My Pupil Achievement Tracker. This assesses children against all elements of the curriculum for Reading, Writing, Mathematics and Science objectives Children are either -: Emerging ( not yet achieved age related ) Expected (they have achieved age related) Exceeded ( working at a greater depth within new standards)

5 What are we doing ? Progress is measured in points. By the end of the year our aim is for ALL children to have made 4 points progress so that they are at least age related or beyond.

6 How will I know what my child is achieving ? We will continue to have termly parent conferences You will continue to receive a termly report card in December, Spring and Summer term which will show your child’s progress and attainment in these key subjects Teaching staff are available after school for quick questions or via appointment to provide further information
