The Desk Organizer For Children Allison M. and Terence S. 11 years old Illinois

Describe the problem you want to solve. The real world-problem may be one that all the people in your neighborhood face, something that all your friends complain about, or an issue you talk about where you live. It could also be about a bigger, global problem that affects many people. Your entry must describe how you help solve the problem by inventing something new. Make a list of possible ways to solve this problem. How have people tried to solve this problem in the past? Think of how you can improve on other solutions. Draw pictures and diagrams to show your invention and how it might work. Include video, photos and text of the steps you take in building your prototype or model. Show your model to friends and hear what they say. Write down their suggestions. Perform some experiments to find out how well you prototype works. Write down the results of each test. Adjust your prototype or model based on the suggestions of your friends or findings of your experiments. Give your invention a name and explain why people should buy it. Things to think about as you complete your submission….. Take time to make your presentation impressive. Use diagrams, video, voice, and photos. You may include multiple slides for each step of the invention process.

Have a great idea for an invention (required step) The desk organizer is a desk that would be divided down the center. The left side would be for books without shelves. The right side has 3 shelves, 1 for all of the notebooks another one for all the folders and the last shelve for either papers that you are in a rush and you can’t put them in your folder or for more notebooks/folders. The Desk Organizer

Investigate inventions and ideas of the past (required step) Here is a desk organizer for inside a desk. But there is only a spot for pencils, sticky notes and paperclips. Here is another organizer that would be perfect if it could fit in a desk but it only can fit on a office desk. So there is no invention that works inside kids desk that help them to be organized.

Draw pictures and diagrams to show your invention and how it might work. (required step)

Build your prototype or model of your invention. The shelves are at the edge are covered in pickle duct tape to make it fashionable.

Test your invention. Here is a view of our invention when you are looking inside of it. When we tested out the invention the shelves held out and were able to take the weight of the folders and notebooks.

Keep improving your invention. Our invention was at first a box that you could fit into the desk but then the box didn’t exactly fit so we took it apart and put the divider in the center of the desk and then put the shelves in.

9 Market your invention to people who might buy it. (required step) Our invention is one of the best desk organizers. It’s helpful, reliable, can be colorful (depending on what duct tape you want to use we happened to use the pickle one). To make it even better it comes at a wonder price...... $10.99
