1 Driving paper out of aircraft maintenance and records standardization
Gerald Frielinghaus, Head of program paperless maintenance Lufthansa Technik AG MRO Europe, London, 14 October 2015

2 Mission paperless maintenance
Digitization eliminates flaws of paper process Transparency through real-time info: Follow-up processes can be started directly because the required information is available for various departments without time delay. Industry leadership: Upgrade of MRO (Lufthansa Technik) by means of seamless digital documentation being extensively used by proactive and preventive maintenance paperless maintenance Focus on performance of maintenance: The maintenance staff can concentrate their efforts on aircraft with less time required for documentation. Key customer benefits: Increased aircraft usage based on real-time information on fleet maintenance condition and availability. Efficiency gain in planning and engineering function. 4 Part M projects Joint Part M Projects Objectives
Electronic Technical Logbook (eTLB) Electronic Cabin Logbook paperless cockpit Objectives Transformation of existing paper-based Technical Log Book (TLB) from Lufthansa Passage and Lufthansa Cargo into a digitized process (eTLB) Assure airworthiness related requirements for information about aircraft status and status of maintenance works are transferred timely and available for the CAMO organisation Provide an interface for technical cabin crew reports (CLB) Improve data basis of cabin defects in order to enhance cabin product Driving paper out of aircraft maintenance and records standardization| Gerald Frielinghaus | 14 October 2015

Electronic Ground Logbook (eGL) eSign eArchive eSDR (Structural Damage Report) Objectives Transformation of today‘s paper-based GLB which shall operate in a digitally-supported process, enabling pure digital archiving and certification. Establishment of a Graphical User Interface (= Maintenance Log) that allows a role-based and process-oriented documentation of maintenance actions taken by Maintenance, which will include all document types (even job cards and on) intentionally.
