3. What is Culture? With the people around you (about 3-5 people per group) define what you think culture is (try to think of 3-4 examples) Try to brainstorm examples of culture and things that make up culture. N.I.C.E. Culture isn’t just ethnicity; it is the identity of a group of people. Not every country has one strict “culture” either: a single country could be made up of varied cultures! Factors that make up culture: traditions, languages, how people dress, morals/beliefs, hobbies/activities (etc) N ewtown I nternational C enter for E ducation

6. History  Teachers, administrators, students, and other members of the community formed the N ewtown I nternational C enter for E ducation in 2009.  First partnership was with the Liaocheng schools in China N.I.C.E. N ewtown I nternational C enter for E ducation

7. Now  NICE has expanded and has partnered with (or is currently developing partnerships with): -Shanghai, China -France -Japan -Spain -India -Italy NICE has created Branching off from N.I.C.E. there are various programs such as the Newtown International Student Ambassador Program (NISAP) and the NICE Parent and Community Organization (NICE PCO). N.I.C.E. N ewtown I nternational C enter for E ducation

8.  NICE Student Ambassadors help to schedule events for international delegates, fundraise, promote cultural awareness, and worke to expand students’ knowledge of diverse cultures  The group hopes to make lasting friendships and partnerships worldwide. 9.  Participate in our activities  Host a student  Apply for one of our trips  Join NICE Student Ambassadors and contribute your ideas N.I.C.E. N ewtown I nternational C enter for E ducation
