2. Omakayas or Little Frog “She was skinney, she grew into a nimble seven winters, a thoughtful girl with shining brown eyes and a wide grin.” (p. 5) Physical characteristic She was very pretty.

3. Angeline “Her hair was thick, her hands clever. ( p. 10) Physical characteristic She was perfect because her hair fell perfectly in place.

4. Mother or Yellow Kettle “ She was a strong looking woman.” (p. 9) Physical characteristic. She was beatiuful in every way.

5. Madeline Island/Lake Superior “Across the water to the tall red cliffs and the wild rice beds.” “A major transportation project in Northeastern Wisconsin could include reinstating traditional Native American wild rice beds. Many of the beds have disappeared because of development.

6. Problems The problem is that Little Kettle thinks that her husband, DeyDey is dead. The second problem is that Omakayas has to get tough scissors from Old Tallow, the mean old witch. The third problem is that Omakayas keeps getting attacked by animals and she doesn’t know why.

7. Critique I thought this book was hard and confusing. People 13+ should read this book.
