The Christian’s Vital Breath

Luke 3:21 ‘One day when the crowds were being baptized, Jesus himself was baptized. As He was praying, the heavens opened.’ Mark 1:35 ‘Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.’ Luke 6:12 ‘One day soon afterward Jesus went up on a mountain to pray, and he prayed to God all night.’ The Christian’s Vital Breath

Luke 22:39 ‘Then, accompanied by the disciples, Jesus left the upstairs room and went as usual to the Mount of Olives.’ Luke 23:46 ‘Then Jesus shouted, ‘Father, I entrust my spirit into your hands!’ And with those words he breathed his last.’ The Christian’s Vital Breath

Luke 11:5-9 ‘Then, teaching them more about prayer, he used this story: Suppose you went to a friend’s house at midnight, wanting to borrow three loaves of bread. You say to him, ‘A friend of mine has just arrived for a visit, and I have nothing for him to eat.’ And suppose he calls out from his bedroom, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is locked for the night, and my family and I are all in bed. I can’t help you.’ The Christian’s Vital Breath

But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence. And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.’ The Christian’s Vital Breath

Luke 18:1-8 ‘One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up. ‘There was a judge in a certain city,’ he said, ‘who neither feared God nor cared about people. A widow of that city came to him repeatedly, saying, ‘Give me justice in this dispute with my enemy.’ The judge ignored her for a while, but finally he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God or care about people, but this woman is driving me crazy. The Christian’s Vital Breath

I’m going to see that she gets justice, because she is wearing me out with her constant requests!’’ Then the Lord said, ‘Learn a lesson from this unjust judge. Even he rendered a just decision in the end. So don’t you think God will surely give justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will grant justice to them quickly! But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?’ The Christian’s Vital Breath

We all can and ought to pray Luke 18:1 ‘One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.’ Prayer is a ministry, a service to the Lord. The Christian’s Vital Breath

Acts 13:1-3 ‘Among the prophets and teachers of the church at Antioch of Syria were Barnabas, Simeon (called ‘the black man’), Lucius (from Cyrene), Manaen (the childhood companion of King Herod Antipas), and Saul. One day as these men were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, ‘Dedicate Barnabas and Saul for the special work to which I have called them.’ So after more fasting and prayer, the men laid their hands on them and sent them on their way.’ The Christian’s Vital Breath

They were praying and the Holy Spirit told them what to do. There can be no successful ministry without prayer. The Christian’s Vital Breath

We should always pray Luke 18:1 ‘One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should ALWAYS PRAY and never give up.’ Ephesians 6:18 ‘Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.’ 1 Thessalonians 5:17 ‘Never stop praying.’ The Christian’s Vital Breath

We should not give up Luke 18:1 ‘One day Jesus told his disciples a story to show that they should always pray and NEVER GIVE UP.’ Luke 11:9 ‘And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.’ The Christian’s Vital Breath

Ephesians 6:18 ‘Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and BE PERSISTENT in your prayers for all believers everywhere.’ Prayer starts with an inward desire which leads to an outward petition. To pray successfully we have to put our desires into words. The Christian’s Vital Breath

We should have faith Luke 18:8 ‘But when the Son of Man returns, how many will he find on the earth who have faith?’ Luke 11:8 ‘But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence.’ The Christian’s Vital Breath
