2 Galatians 5:22-23 Pg. 826 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

And the final three have to do, primarily, with our own inner state of being: "faithfulness, gentleness [or "meekness"], self-control".

6 1 John 4:8 He who does not know love does not know God, for God is love.

7 John 15:11 Pg. 764 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

8 John 14:27 Pg. 764 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

9 Jesus shows that we can be patient in
Jesus shows that we can be patient in praying if we continue to believe in prayer. Jesus gives a PARABLE to demonstrate the necessity to be patient in our PRAYERS.

10 1 Thessalonians 5:12-18 Pg. 837 Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other.

11 1 Thessalonians 5:12-18 Pg. 837 14And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone.

12 1 Thessalonians 5:12-18 Pg. 837 15Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. 16Be joyful always; 17pray continually;

13 1 Thessalonians 5:12-18 Pg. 837 18give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.

14 Luke 18:1-8 Pg. 742 Then Jesus told His disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 2He said: "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men.

15 Luke 18:1-8 Pg. 742 3And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, 'Grant me justice against my adversary.' 4"For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, 'Even though I don't fear God or care about men,

16 Luke 18:1-8 Pg. 742 5yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won't eventually wear me out with her coming!' "

17 Luke 18:1-8 Pg. 742 6And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7And will not God bring about justice for His chosen ones, who cry out to Him day and night? Will He keep putting them off?

18 Luke 18:1-8 Pg. 742 8I tell you, He will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on the earth?"

II. We must be patient in prayer because of our connection to the True Vine – vs. 2-5 Debemos tener paciencia en la oración a causa de nuestra conexión con la Vid Verdadera. –vs.2-5

23 Luke 18:1-8 Pg. 742 2He said: "In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men.

24 Luke 18:1-8 Pg. 742 3And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, 'Grant me justice against my adversary.' 4"For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, 'Even though I don't fear God or care about men,

26 1 John 5:13-15 Pg. 864 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.

27 1 John 5:13-15 Pg. 864 14This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15And if we know that He hears us— whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him.

28 False Vine Syndrome: I can do it! God won’t or can’t do it!

He told this parable to show that at all times we must be patient to pray and not lose heart.

30 III. Patient Prayers allows me to see God and myself more clearly
vs. 6-8 Las oraciones pacientes me permiten ver a Dios y a mi mismo más claramente. –vs. 6-8

31 Luke 18:1-8 Pg. 742 6And the Lord said, "Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7And will not God bring about justice for His chosen ones, who cry out to Him day and night? Will He keep putting them off?

Jesus uses this example to show the absolute resolve involved in patience.

34 There are four things that we need to know about God that will give us patience in prayer:
(1) God cares for us.

35 Isaiah 49:14-15 Pg. 520 But Zion said, "The LORD has forsaken me, the Lord has forgotten me.“

36 Isaiah 49:14-15 Pg. 520 “Can a woman forget her nursing child, and have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you. Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; …”

37 1 Peter 5:6-7 Pg. 859 “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, 7casting all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you”

38 (2) God never delays answers because. of a lack of care or a lack of
(2) God never delays answers because of a lack of care or a lack of power. (3) God’s delays are always for our good, even if the reasons are hidden from us.

39 (4) God may not come when you want Him, but He’s always on time.

40 Note these three things about ourselves:
(1) He brings the Power we bring the Patience. (2) He brings the assurance we bring the access.

41 “Sometimes He is waiting, like a. patient farmer, until the fruits of
“Sometimes He is waiting, like a patient farmer, until the fruits of godliness, faith, and humility in our hearts is ripe before He grants the answers” (Andrew Murray, With Christ in the School of Prayer [Spire Books], pp ).

42 (3) He is the Vine, we are the branches.
