2. Show and Tell Content: Oral language development
Grade- Primary, ESOL and ESE students in any grade
Curriculum Standards:
LA.K The students will communicate effectively when relating experiences and retelling stories heard.
LA.K The student will use complete sentences when speaking.

3. Show and Tell Cont.
Description of practices- Show and Tell enables students to use playful, purposeful, and planned talk while sharing an item or experience with their peers.
Delivery Models- Show and Tell can be done whole group, in small groups, and individually. Whole group delivery would involve one student sharing with the class. Small groups can be done in a co-taught classroom where both teachers are able to have small Show and Tell sessions. Students can also share individually with just the teacher

6. Shared Reading Content- Oral language development

LA.K The student will listen attentively to fiction and nonfiction read-alouds and demonstrate understanding.
LA.K The student will match print to speech.

7. Shared Reading Cont.
Description of Practices- Shared reading involves a child and an adult reading together. The strategy allows students to gain knowledge about the basics of books and print.
Delivery Model- Shared reading can be done whole group, in small groups, and one-on-one. The teacher can read aloud to the whole class, or in a co-taught class, each teacher can read a book in two small groups. Students can also be pulled to practice shared reading individually.

9. Shared Reading Cont.
Big books are commonly used during shared reading. They have large text and pictures, so that students may read with the teacher, or follow along with the pictures.
