2. What is Bookshare? Bookshare is an online library that makes print material available for people with disabilities.

3. Membership Options: Who Qualifies? Bookshare membership is available to people who provide proof of a print disability such as: blindness or low vision a reading disability physical disability that makes it difficult or impossible to read standard print.

4. Membership Options Organizational Memberships Organizations that serve adults and students with print disabilities. Teachers and/or staff members (Sponsors) download books for their students (Members). 6. I’ve Signed Up, What’s Next? You can add members individually or you can use the Upload Roster function. Adding Members Individually Click “My Organization” Click “Members” Click “Add A Member” Add Member Information and Save

7. I’ve Signed Up, What’s Next? Upload Roster Function Click “My Organization” Click “Upload Roster” Download “New Member Roster” Enter Member and Sponsor Information and Save Upload “New Member Roster” FYI: This function takes 1-2 business days to review

Read:Outloud Bookshare Edition Key Features: Text-to-speech reads Bookshare content eHighlighter and Note tools cultivate text-to-self connections Bibliographer logs and organizes sources in a structured step-by-step process Benefits: Provides access to classroom content – Students with print disabilities can access curriculum-based information through electronic books available from Bookshare Supports reading comprehension – Read:Outloud provides the structure and tools students use to independently practice comprehension strategies recommended by the National Reading Panel Report and Reading Next. Increases knowledge in any subject area – Students highlight key information creating an information outline to organize and clarify their content understanding.
