Only God can fulfill our deep cravings for happiness, truth, goodness, justice and love.

3. What About Human Reason?
All religions agree that human reason cannot plumb the depths of the great mystery of God…
God’s ways are not our ways…
His thoughts are not our thoughts (Book of the Prophet Isaiah -- 55:8)

4. What Is Divine Revelation?
REVELATION: means “unveiling”
God freely chose to step into human history to reveal His plan of salvation through the Hebrew and Christian bibles…
and the INCARNATION. (God taking on human flesh in the person of Jesus Christ.)
SALVATION HISTORY: The story of God’s saving activity in human history.

5. What Is Divine Revelation (continued):
God also reveals Himself in the official teaching of the Church…
which resides in the Pope (the successor of St. Peter) and the bishops.
This is called the MAGISTERIUM (from the Latin word for “teacher.”
