Why Jesus Christ?

My project work completely coincides with the basic postulates of Christianity and it has got an educational meaning.

None of the religions have had such a strong influence on the development of humanity as Christianity.

At the sunset of ancient culture, when the world began to sink into the abyss of barbaric cruelty and debauchery, Christianity was the first which called to love, mercy and moral improvement.

The first adherents of the new religion had endured many troubles, but torment and persecution had only elevated their status.

Today Christianity is on all continents and it largely determines the development of the modern society.

Born in Palestine at the beginning of our era, Jesus Christ is the Son of God not in the meaning in which all people can be named as God’s children.

He is Son of God in a very exceptional case: He is God.

The most important truth about God is that He is triune: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The triune God existed before the world, before all times.

The existence of God exceeds the capabilities of the human mind. People can know about God only a little.

Most of what we know about Him because He reveals himself to people. The Revelation says: “God is love”.

His birth on the earth was a miracle. There was elected the most holy and pure Virgin Mary to be his mother.

The orthodox venerate the mother of God, the blessed Virgin Mary.

In his earthily deed Jesus Christ combined three of the old Testament Laws.

As a Prophet He taught people, explaining, restoring and improving the old Testament Law.

As a king he joined together all believers in the new kingdom. Many people wanted him to become a real king of the country.

They were all disappointed when he said that his kingdom was “not of this world”.

When very few people were loyal to him and many turned away from him, He, as a priest, made a sacrifice to save the whole world.

Being sinless, Son of God took upon himself the punishment for the sins of the world when he went to Calvary, accepted suffering and death.

The meaning of this atoning sacrifice exceeds the capacity of human understanding.

The Son of God who shared our fate willingly and accepted death, couldn’t be held by the bonds of death. He died as a man. He as God raised His humanity to get eternal life to all the other people.

G od is love towards the created world. “For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have an everlasting life…”.

The Law of God is very actual today because it says: 1. Don’t make idols for yourself 2. Honor your parents 3. Don’t kill 4. Don’t commit adultery 5. Don’t steal 6. Don’t say false witness 7. Don’t desire your neighbor’s house Do you agree with me? *
