Project Background This Project is part of the Atchafalaya Basin Floodway System Project, Louisiana as authorized in the Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) of 1986. What’s the Next Step? Step 1 - Complete final layout by 31 August 2002, based on your feedback tonight, via e-mail or regular mail. Step 2 - Begin project engineering design (plans and specs). Step 3 - Complete Engineering Documentation Report by 31 December 2002. Step 4 - Complete plans and specifications by 30 Sept 2003. Step 5 - Execute Project Cooperation Agreement with Port Commission by 31 October 2003. Step 6 - BCOE Review completed by 30 November 2003. Step 7 - Construction in FY04 pending funding, scheduled to take advantage of mid-year low water season. Note: This schedule is tentative and is contingent upon federal funding
