3. What is a Kangaroo? Kangaroos are the planet's largest marsupials. They have powerful hind legs, and large feet. Kangaroos can travel at speeds up to 30 miles per hour and can leap 30 feet. They are also highly social animals so they typically live and travel in groups, which are known as mobs or troops.

5. The Kangaroos habitat: Kangaroos are found in Australia and Tasmania, as well as on surrounding islands. They live in varied habitats from forests and woodland areas to savannas. Different kangaroo species live in a variety of habitats. Potoroids, for example, make nests while tree- kangaroos live above ground in trees. Larger species of kangaroo tend to shelter under trees or in caves and rock clefts.

6. Kangaroo’s Adaptation: The kangaroo lives out in open country. They have a mode of travel that is perfectly adapted for this open habitat, and it is that they jump. This is called saltatory locomotion. With huge back feet and a long tail used for balance, kangaroos can jump up to thirty feet in a single leap. They are built to jump. Kangaroos also are able to go for long periods of time without water. Which helps them survive in drought areas. They can do this because their digestive tract is able to reabsorb every drop of water from the foods they eat.
