Description of Study Pre-Test:  As a pre-test I had my students write a reflective journal entry discussing what they already knew about fairy tales.  They were then asked to include a paragraph discussing what they already knew about Cinderella. Assessments:  To assess student learning, I distributed two quizzes. One over Yeh-Shen and one over Aschenputtel.  They were distributed a day after completion of reading each story.  These quizzes demonstrated student learning aligned to the Common Core State Standards Literacy.RL.7.1, 3, 4, and 6.

3. Profile of the Class 7 th Grade 5 th Period 30 Total Students  16 Girls  14 Boys Honors Class=High Performance! Great Parents, Great Lives. Low Level of Diversity  One Middle Eastern Student  One African American Student.  Other Ethnicities in Other Classes.

6. Reflection and Remediation Change 1:  I would change the amount of discussion held in the classroom. I felt like the class was too rushed at times. Change 2:  I would change the timing of the quizzes. They were given back to back due to scheduling conflicts and I feel like this affected the students’ scores.
