3 Mao’s China 1945-2 Chinese government Nationalists led by Chiang Kai-shek based in Southern and central China Communists led by Mao Zedong based in northern China Civil War broke out in 1945 after WWII People’s liberation Army defeated Chiang Kai- shek Chiang Kai-Shek’s followers went to Taiwan Mao promised land redistribution

7 1. Explain how the migration of Jews to Israel has impacted the relationship between Arab states and Israel. 2. Why has it proven so difficult to resolve conflict in the Middle East? Explain. 3. Create a timeline of events in Israel that lead to the Yom Kippur War. Be sure to include the Holocaust and the formation of Israel.
