2 BRIEF HISTORY “The EU is a family of democratic European countries committed to working together for peace and prosperity.” Created after World War II First step was economic cooperation & result was the European Economic Community (EEC) in 1958 Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands EEC to EU in 1993 (changed name)
