3 Stalingrad, USSR Aug 1942: Luftwaffe bombs city & destroy it Russians do NOT surrender!

4 Russians attack back, surround city & cut off Ger supplies 90,000 / 330,000 Ger troops survive & surrender! Ger will not win in Russia again

5 Italy July 1943: Allies attack Sic lily (Italian island) Just 5 days later, the King of Italy fires Mussolini & puts him in prison!

6 Although fighting will continue in Italy until 1945, this marks the beginning of the end of fascist rule
