Attention- Does it grab your attention? (3 second rule) Iconography- It is a popular image universally recognizable? Interest/incentive- Does the poster make us want to go see this movie? Appeal- It is appealing? Does it draw us in or repel? Style- It is a style that is trendy or has longevity? Lasting appeal- Is this dated? Will the design last decades? Recognizability- Will people recognize what film this poster is about?

What unique concepts can you come up with? Can you apply a conceptual design technique? (Substitution, Homage, metaphor, ambiguity) Are you using a cliché you should avoid? What photo rendering techniques would be appropriate? (scale, emphasis, rhythm, balance, hierarchy)

15 Assignment Part 1 Pick 3 movie Posters one must be from before you were born Do three synopses (4-6 complete sentences) of the elements used in the movie posters and how they are relevant to the theme or idea of the movie. Attach Movie Poster images to each Print out and turn in Visit designs-the-creative-content-that-sells-movies to look as design elements.
