3 Objective: Students will evaluate the decision by Britain to tax the American colonies after 1763 by describing the responses of both the British and the American colonists to British legislation. Drill: “Young man, there is America-which at this day serves for little more than to amuse you with stories of savage men and uncouth manners; yet shall, before you taste of death, show itself equal to the whole of that commerce which now attracts the envy of the world” Edmund Burke

4 Take out the French and Indian War Chart Why is it known as the French and Indian War? What is it known as in Europe? Identify the major outcomes of the French and Indian War.

9 Assign roles for the debate on whether the colonies should separate from England

10 Students will identify the critical events of the 1760s by completing the 1760s decade chart
