3. LONDON.General Information I welcome you to London. London is one of the largest cities in the world.About 7 mln people live there.London is more than two thousand years old. London’s most famous sights are theTower, the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and St’Paul’s Cathedral. Let’s start our tour.

4. Trafalgar Square It is a square in central London, where the Nelson’s Column stands. It is known for the large number of pigeons which come there and are fed by tourists.

5. National Gallery It is one’s of London’s well- known art galleries. It contains one of the most important collections of Western paintings. It was founded in 1824.

6. The Houses of Parliament are the buildings in London in which the British parliament sits.

7. Big Ben It is the clock in the clock tower of the Houses of Parliament. The sound of Big Ben is well-known all over the world because it’s broadcast by the BBC.

8. Westminster Abbey It is one of the leading sights of London, a large gothic church, where almost all English kings and queens have been crowned and where many famous people are buried.
