1. Hear and Do – James 1:22-25

2.  James1:22-25 But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror; for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was. But one who looks intently at the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.

3.  Matthew 7:26 -- Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand.

4.  “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.’

5.  Matthew 21:28-30 -- “But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, ‘Son, go work today in the vineyard.’ And he answered, ‘I will not’; but afterward he regretted it and went. The man came to the second and said the same thing; and he answered, ‘I will, sir’; but he did not go.”

6.  Doer = POIETAI  We get the word POET  A maker, creator, creative action.

7.  Finding effective ways to put God’s word into action.  Not waiting for a program to go to work.  This commandment is for each individual

8.  “So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.”  How will we each do this?

9.  Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ …standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;

10.  Who is the forgetful looker?  Examines self, but then forgets what he looks like.  Ignoring what needs to be done.

11.  2 Peter 1:3 -- seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.

12.  Galatians 5:1 -- It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.

13.  Romans 6:22 -- But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.
