CRITICAL LENS RUBRIC – LEVEL 4 MEANING -the essay establishes an interpretation of the critical lens that you can understand and that makes sense -make implicit connections between the quotes and the works DEVELOPMENT -develop some ideas more fully than others, with reference to specific and relevant evidence and appropriate literary elements from both texts ORGANIZATION -the essay is always working towards connecting the quote and the works and it doesn’t focus on plot summary or get away from the pint LANGUAGE USE -use appropriate language, with awareness of someone who knows nothing and someone who knows everything -occasionally make effective use of sentence or length CONVENTIONS -demonstrate partial control, exhibiting occasional errors that do not hinder comprehension
