3 Managing Worksheets Rename Worksheets Change Worksheet Tab Color Move, Delete, Copy, and Add Worksheets

4 Rename Worksheets 1. Right-click a sheet tab to show a shortcut menu 2. Select Rename, and the sheet tab name is highlighted. 3. Type the new sheet tab name and press Enter.

5 Change Worksheet Tab Color 1. Right-click the Sheet 1 Tab 2. Select Tab Color 3. You select Theme Colors, Standard Colors, No Color, or More Colors

6 Move, Delete, Copy, Add Worksheets Move: Click and drag the worksheet tab Delete: Right-click on the sheet tab and select Delete from the shortcut menu Copy: press and hold Ctrl as you drag the worksheet tab Add: Right-click any sheet tab, and select Worksheet from the Insert dialog box, and click OK

8 Merge and Center Labels Enter title in cell A1 Select cells A1:L1 Click Merge & Center in the Alignment group on the Home tab.

9 Adjust Cell Height and Width To widen a column, drag the border between column headings to change the column width AutoFit: Home tab, Cells Group, Format

13 Formatting Definitions Format StyleDefinition GeneralDefault format for numeric entries and displays a number according to the way it was originally entered NumberDisplays a number with or without the 1000 separator and with any number of decimal places. Negative numbers can be displayed with parentheses and/or can be shown in red. CurrencyDisplays a number with the 1000 separator and an optional dollar sign. AccountingDisplays a number with the 1000 separator and an optional dollar sign. Dollar sign left aligned number right aligned. DateDisplays the date in different ways, such as March 14, 2009, 3/14/09, or 14-Mar- 09.

14 Formatting Definitions TimeDisplays the time in different formats, such as 10:50PM or 22:50. PercentageShows when the number is multiplied by 100, a percent sign is included. FractionDisplays the number as a fraction. ScientificDisplays a number as a decimal fraction followed by a whole number exponent of 10; for example the number 12345 would appear as 1.2345E+04 TextLeft aligns the entry. SpecialDisplays a number with editing characters, such as hyphens in a SSN. CustomEnables you to select a predefined customized number format to create your own.

15 Use Fonts You can use the same fonts in Excel as you can in any other Windows application. Any entry in a worksheet may be displayed in any font, style, or point size.
