2. Argument In his illustration of Paradise Lost, Henry Fuseli depicted God as a tyrant rather than a merciful deity. Although William Blake shared ideas with Henry Fuseli freely and had his own unique interpretation in illustrating Paradise Lost, Blake’s illustration is still Christocentric.

3. The Triumphant Messiah Fuseli portrayed Satan as a noble warrior seeking freedom from God. God raised his left hand of damnation but hid away His right hand of blessing/ victory.
