Thursday, 1/7 EQ: How can I utilize the AVID basics to be successful in H.S. and college? Pick up your folder from the back lab table. Create CNs over what you read – 5 minutes to complete Think about the author’s message and create an EQ and objective based on your perception of the author’s purpose Complete the right hand side of the CN.

Author’s lecture As you listen to the author add to your CNs as applicable.

Planner Review There must be something written for each core subject on each day. Suggestions for no home work days N/A had time to complete HW in class N/A was absent or on a field trip Need to review my notes on KE for quiz next week. Another words…you should have something to think about every day in every class!

Senior Tutorial TRF You will no longer use a TRF form…you will use note book paper. The following items need to be on your notebook paper: The source of your question (question from class, old quiz, review, etc.) Vocabulary needed to answer your question A well thought out POC Reflection Will include what understanding you have gained after the tutorial

Monthly Group Goal-Setting You will do this on Tuesday

Tutorial grade Composed of the following Note book TRF (40%) Quality of your Goal-Setting form (30%) Tutor observation (30%) We will transition to tutor grading of the TRF – make sure the sections are distinct.

Creating a Senior TRF You will have five minutes to familiarize yourself with the CNs that are on the back table.

TRF Review When the music stops you will have thirty seconds to pick a TRF and return to your seat.

TRF Review Review the TRF (do not write on it) On a blank piece of notebook paper create a senior TRF based on the traditional TRF.

TRF Review Find the person with the same number UNO card and do the following: Review your partners original TRF and their senior TRF. After you have completed the review, respond to the following question on the index card provided: When preparing my Senior TRF for tutorials what do I need to keep doing, stop doing, and start doing? (make sure your name is on the index card). Turn your index card into the black tray.

Preparing your 30 second speech With your partner Review the criteria for 30 second speech. Choose one of your TRFs to write a 30 second speech. Write a 30 second speech. Turn your 30 second speech into the black tray (make sure that you write you and your partner’s name on it.

Be prepared for Next week Believe in yourself and take the time to thank yourself for your determination to earn a college degree! Pick up a blank TRF Review your planner Make sure you have the tools for success with you at all times.
