7 © 2008 Oracle Corporation – Proprietary and Confidential 7 Construction Estimating Description Construction units are standardized repetitive units of construction work, involving labour, material and equipments. This feature enables users to define construction units by grouping activities. Such construction units are further grouped together to define construction estimates and create work orders through an estimating workbench. Work order costs are collected and posted for mass addition to create new fixed asset numbers or add value to existing asset numbers. So it not mandatory to have FA Number association with the eAM Asset Number.

8 © 2008 Oracle Corporation – Proprietary and Confidential 8 Construction Estimating Business Value Construction estimating is often used by industries with repetitive element of design, higher planning & scheduling cycles and complex resource requirements. This feature will enable the users to define the repetitive elements of design as construction units and perform efficient planning and scheduling using the estimation workbench. This feature would be useful to a variety of industries like Utilities/T&D, E&C, Telecom etc. where construction work is routinely carried out.

9 © 2008 Oracle Corporation – Proprietary and Confidential 9 Construction Estimating Setup and Process SETUP STEPS Profile for Fixed Asset Book EAM: FA Book Type Code Routing and BOM defined in the activities with estimates/ units will explode into resource and material rows Select various options of grouping rows for work orders to be generated Optionally enter defaults for the work orders. Apply Defaults Create Construction Estimate by adding construction units/ activities on create page Navigate to Estimation workbench by pressing Next button Create Construction Estimate by selecting Construction Units from Search page results Process : Construction Estimating and Creating Work Orders Optionally update the rows, add new rows for material / resources Optionally add or select option to create parent work order. Define Difficulty Codes with Resource Multiplier Create Construction Units by selecting one or more activities Generate Work Orders by using Create Work Orders button

10 © 2008 Oracle Corporation – Proprietary and Confidential 10 Construction Estimating Setup – Define Difficulty Codes Search for the Difficulty Codes based on Code and Description 1 In the same page add or update difficulty codes 3 Resource Multiplier is a non- zero number which is multiplied with resources to adjust for extra requirements due various factors 2

11 © 2008 Oracle Corporation – Proprietary and Confidential 11 Construction Estimating Setup – Set Profile Options EAM: Fixed Asset Book Type Code This profile will set the Fixed Asset Book for the fixed asset number created through the work order capitalization form. Profile ValueDescription Select the fixed asset book for depreciation from the available books. Book can be setup at the level of Organization or Site. Preference is to the book at Organization level. If there is no book setup at Organization level, book at site level is considered.

Units from other orgs can also be searched. Copy units to create new construction unit or create new estimates. Navigate to update construction unit page Select rows from results table for Step 3 3

Users can add more rows If the activity Is not assigned to this org, this check box will be highlighted. By checking this box and save, system will assign the activity to the org but not the BOM and routing. Save / Apply to save records 23 4

After Apply Defaults button is pressed rows are refreshed WO sequence number assigned by the system and user entered defaults 2 Users can enter WO number of choice or else system assigns a number when Create WO button is pressed

Press Create Work Orders to generate the work orders in the system. Work Order numbers would be displayed as confirmation else error messages would be shown. 4 Estimate Costs gives the costs for each work order and the total of all work orders. 3 Select Activities button navigates back to create page to allow addition of construction units or activities 2

29 © 2008 Oracle Corporation – Proprietary and Confidential 29 Google Maps Integration Description This feature addresses the integration with the web based source map viewer of Google Maps. eAM assets can be geocoded and displayed on the map viewer based on user entered search criteria. The user can select any asset icon on the map viewer, view the Asset’s detail and perform various actions like Work Request/ Work Order creation.

30 © 2008 Oracle Corporation – Proprietary and Confidential 30 Google Maps Integration Business Value The ability to find and view Assets on a map is a key requirement for numerous eAM customers especially those in the Utilities and Public Sector verticals. The prime advantage of the 3rd party mapping tool like Google Maps is that users are already familiar with the tool and it comes out with reasonable amount of out-of-box features like map-based services that will help the users service assets more efficiently.
